the sun also rises on those who fail to call
I've officially read 3/4 Sally Rooney books. What is it with me and obsessing over an author, or maybe more so just falling deep into their world. It's just that when I find a book / author I like, I want to experience all of their work. I've really enjoyed all her books, so far.
It's funny, but when I read book reviews over most any book I'm reading, I feel so personally offended when it's a disliked book. "Conversations With Friends" was my personal favorite, then, "Normal People", and finally, "Beautiful World, Where Are You." Although, I find the title striking of the latter.
I recently met a tiny kitten named Pickles and it awoke a desire within me for a tiny kitten of my own. He wouldn't stop playing in my skirt and now and then he would peek out from underneath it so we could only see his tiny head and we would all laugh. They tried to distract him with other toys and he would play momentarily but then look over, and as if seeing the little gears turn in his brain, he would suddenly leap back over and roll over onto his back to play again. I couldn't complain. His claws and teeth were still so small that his playful swats didn't hurt. Ugh, just so sweet. Lord bless me with a cat. But maybe not yet, Margaret might have an aneurism.
Grocery shopping was a fun experience, and in total today, I saw three people I knew out in public. I only interacted with one of them but I did consider saying hi to another. I just don't emit positivity right now so it's tough to have aspirations like conversing with others (lol).
I've applied to three jobs in total, so I probably should speed that up to create better chances for myself. Money is so silly. The United States is one of only two countries in the West that doesn't consider food to be a basic human right. How capitalist. No wonder the coined phrase is capitalist pig. Tis true. And guess the other country. Just guess.
Israel.
Ha ha.
I read the Bible this morning. I flipped to a random page and landed on a passage from Isaiah about the Israelites acting the part but not being in the right mindset. Like, for example, how they would fast and expect then for God to bless their life but while they fasted, they would be mean to their servants (I’m assuming they felt hangry). But the point was that this is not godly so don’t act as if you’re acting godly because you’re doing the act on paper but not within your heart and spirit.
I appreciated it. It was a good read.
Am I acting the part while claiming something else? Hm. Thoughts to consider.
