Solstice
A deep layer of blue, And cold, And dark.
A layer over the Earth, Encapsulates until It escapes
A bright light through a layer of sand, Can you see it?
Long and blue and dark and light.
I lay in my quilted sheets and wonder, What was it like 182 Days ago? I cannot remember, for The blue is in my brain and does not leave until the sun Cusps the layer
Break through I beg, But I still sit in content silence because the layer is a dark comfort to the dark soul.
Is my soul so dark?
Perhaps It is long and blue and dark and light.
But I know That One day, The layer will break and I will be exposed. Like a lamb entering the world on a green moor while the sun Cusps a cloud And heavenly rays touch the silky wool.
And perhaps my skin will embrace the warmth of heaven, But for now I live with a soul that enjoys the soft comfort of The long and blue and dark and light.
