seeking completion
My mother always took my father back, no matter the arguments or lies or hurt or deceit, even hurt and deceit towards her children, she always disregarded it and chose to move on. This taught me to also look past people’s faults and always choose to move on.
It’s not even choosing forgiveness because this lifestyle is more or less not even a choice. You have to move on in these circumstances. There was never a bone in my mother’s body that was strong or saw herself as worthy that she would have even ever considered leaving. Every consideration to leave or effort to leave was just a show of display for my father to feel like he should try harder. Except this never truly works because he’d already shown he doesn't care. And he always knew she would just take him back. And I always had to take him back, too.
And this isn’t beautiful and this isn’t love. This is purely a toxic cycle of disillusionment where two people never grow and never grasp the severity of hurt they’re living in by continuing this cycle.
