Another Layer

one year blogiversary

It’s been almost exactly one year since beginning this blog. How CRAZY! I specifically remember the night I wrote my first blog post. I was reading “The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F” in an attempt to stop caring about certain circumstances in my life that felt unchangeable. It helped… kind of. It was an amazing book nonetheless; therefore, I decided to write my first post about the concepts Manson wrote that stuck out to me.

Anyway, obviously at this point this blog has shifted in a different direction due to my life which is what a personal blog should do so I love this progression. I’m appreciative of my rawness in my writing and that I don’t try to keep up with a certain persona to remain unchanging. I think it’s just more so crazy to remember that particular night as it feels literally like yesterday to where I’m at now. Wow. But that’s how everything feels if I remember some specific moment from a year or so ago. It’s just an insane progression.

But I’m proud of all my posts and it’s fun to be able to delve back into some specific moment by just clicking a link. And that’s the beauty in writing. It’s like a window back into a certain timeframe and that’s so beautiful to be able to reexplore that. Almost like walking through a time capsule and previewing all these separate moments, just to be able to pick one and sink back into it.

So, if anything, keep writing. Through the hard times and the big or small changes and the good moments and what feel like insignificant days, keep writing! Because looking back years later, nothing will feel insignificant for it all compiles to create the museum of who you are. And to have the privilege of your own museum is a beautiful experience.
