Day 10
I just had the realization that after you are finished with schooling (k-12 education), as well as higher education, your knowledge and level of advancement in skillsets is completely dependent on your level of wanting to learn. And this is fully in your hands to essentially learn and gain knowledge on your own.
I feel that when you're going through specifically intermediate schooling into high school, there's always a feeling of "if I don't know something now(a word, for instance), I'll learn it eventually." I remember reading books in school and not having advanced enough vocabulary to understand something, but I'd just put it off and think to myself that as I "grow up" I'll learn what I don't know presently.
Well... now, I'm grown up! And I've had the realization that there are still words in a book I might not know. But now, it's my responsibility to learn that word and actually realize if I don't know it now, I'll never know it.
I don't know, I just found this thought so interesting. So, that is exactly why people say to never devalue yourself and stop putting effort into certain things you're good at because once you do, you lose your education on it.
But of course, I feel that this is also quite subjective to the person at play because for instance, I don't ever utilize math and I've never had a fondness for math but I do enjoy reading. So, it makes more sense personally that I stay within the realms of focusing on expanding my vocabulary in comparison to doing practice math problems. But anything is substantial, as well.
